Booking and conditions

Booking:

If you have made a choice from our tours or if we agreed on a complete program and price, we will be glad to get to work for you.

We ask you to send us the order confirmation per e-mail.

After receiving the order confirmation we will make the reservations for you. Therefore we need a scan of your passport and of all fellow travelers which prove full official names, date of birth, passport numbers and nationality.
We cannot always be completely informed about rules and regulation about validity requirement in your home country and you will always be responsible to be in the possession of valid travel documents.

If, when making the reservations it turns out that for example a hotel is full on the required date we will inform you and we will make, in consultation with you a reservation in another hotel. A change like this might involve a (minor) effect on the price in a positive or negative way.

When all reservations are confirmed we will inform you and send you the invoice.

Then we require a down payment of 25% of the land arrangement according to our payment conditions for booking more than 8 weeks before the commencement of the tours or services, or a full payment for booking within 8 weeks before the commencement of the tours or services.
In case of a down payment the remainder of the payment has to be in our possession 8 weeks before the commencement of the tours or services.

If your program includes one or more flights and you want us to issue the air tickets you will also receive the invoice for the flight(s). The amount for the flight(s) has to be paid at once, because we also need to pay the air company straight away. If you book longer than 8 weeks before the commencement of the tours or services you can pay for the flight(s) together with the down payment of 25% for the land arrangement. After receiving your payment for the air ticket(s) we will have them issued and we will send them to you immediately when we received them. You can print the e-ticket(s) and take them with you on your travel.
Prices for air tickets not always include airport taxes. You will have to pay these taxes yourself at the airport.

At some bus stations in Bolivia a tax is imposed for the use of the terminal. Also these taxes you will have to pay on the spot. The involved rates are small.

For reservations from foreign countries we charge a fee for booking- and reservation costs of US-$. 30.- per booking.

After receiving full payment for all booked tours or services we send you the concerning vouchers per e-mail. We advise to check the vouchers well on correctness regarding date of travel, names, passport numbers etc. If you have any remarks or questions about the vouchers we ask you to inform us directly so we can make the necessary corrections if required.

You can print the vouchers and hand them over to the organization or person carrying out the tour or service.

General conditions:

It is understood that undertaking of and participating in travels, treks, group tours, or any other form of tourism activities, such as expeditions, jungle tours or any other activity arranged by Pukina Travel, involves certain risks and dangers.

These include but are not limited to:

  • o travelling in mountain terrain, on rivers and in forests and jungle;
  • travel by airplane, car, bus, jeep, boat, canoe, rafts, bicycle, or any other means of conveyance;
  • accidents or illness in remote regions with little or no medical facilities and without means of paid evacuation;
  • accidents caused by forces of nature;
  • changes in itinerary or cancellation of tours/treks or services due to reasons beyond our control.

In consideration of the above Pukina Travel declares that as performer or as intermediary between the participant and the entities or persons called to carry out the tour or service described in the itinerary: tour operators, hotels, restaurants, transport or others, shall not be liable for their deficiencies or failure of these entities. This includes failures such as delays, loss or damages to baggage or goods, seat allocation in any kind of transport or hotel rooms, unexpected cancellation of reservations or any other failure of any kind.
Pukina Travel shall not be held responsible for any delay -and its consequences-, loss, injury or damage to any person or property resulting - directly or indirectly - dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, quarantine, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department restrictions or regulations, or any other causes beyond Pukina Travel' control. Pukina Travel does not assume liability or responsibility for securing the services of any doctor for any of their tours or services nor is it liable for any medical emergency, evacuation costs, expenses for accident, sickness or death, bodily injury, (including emotional distress or injury), illness loss due to theft, or any other reasons incurred by any tour or service participant. Travelers are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. The participation in tours or services organized by Pukina Travel takes place on travelers own responsibility and at their own risk. According to the above, the participant or third person on behalf of the participants, shall not formulate protests of any kind against Pukina Travel

Payment and cancellation conditions:

Payment conditions:

  1. If you are in Bolivia and you book a tour or service with us you can, in consultation with us, in time before the tour or service starts:
    1. Pay cash at our office in La Paz in US-$. or in Bolivianos;
    2. Deposit the amount for the tour or service in US-$. or in Bolivianos on our bank account in Bolivia;
    3. Transfer the amount in US-$. Through Western Union, in which case no transfer costs will be charged by us. Of course Western Union will charge you a fee for their service.
      We ask you to inform us after transferring the amount so we can check our account and send you a confirmation of the receipt.
      There won’t be a booking and reservation fee charged.
  2. Money transfers from your account in a foreign country to our account in Bolivia:
    1. For money transfers from your account in a foreign country to our account in Bolivia we don't charge transfer costs.
      When you do the payment please indicate your bank that costs for the money transfers are for sender (for you) so we receive the correct amount on our bank account. If a lower amount arrives on our account we will still have to charge you for the amount that is short.
      In addition please indicate your bank that you transfer the amount in US-$., so don’t convert the amount into Euros, British Pounds, or any other currency!
      We ask you to inform us after transferring the amount so we can check our account and send you a confirmation of the receipt.
    2. Transfer can be done by payment through the Western Union as well, in which case no transfer costs will be charged by us. Of course Western Union will charge you a fee for their service.

      For all the tours or services contracted, a down payment of 25% of the total agreed amount should be made on the by Pukina Travel indicated bank account when booking the tour or service. The remainder of the payment has to be in the possession of Pukina Travel 8 weeks before the commencement of the services.
      When booking takes place within 8 weeks before the commencement of the tours or services the full amount has to be paid at once.
    3. Also you can pay in full online using your credit card for the tours we have in our website, for other tours “Tailor made”, the best way will be sending an advance payment via our Bank Account or via Western Union, and the balance in cash before the tour starts.

Cancellation conditions *:

If the participant in a tour or service booked with Pukina Travel wishes to cancel the reservation for any reason, you may cancel your booking by notifying us by email. Cancellation fees, if any, will be determined with reference to the date on which notice of cancellation is received and are expressed as a percentage of the total price paid for the cancelled Tour.

Cancellation of a Tour:

Cancellation received between 30 and 15 days before departure of the tour: an amount equal to 65% of the final price will be refunded.
Cancellation received between 14 and 7 days before departure of the tour: an amount equal to 50% of the final price will be refunded.
Cancellation received between 6 and 3 days before departure of the tour: an amount equal to 20% of the final price will be refunded.
Cancellation received between 2 days before departure of the tour: not refundable.

Most airline tickets are subject to strict terms that involve high cancellation costs. For cancellation of airline tickets other cancellation penalties can be applicable up to 100%. Pukina Travel agrees to fully refund any money paid by the participant in the case of having to cancel a tour or service for any reason under Pukina Travel' control.
If adverse climatic conditions exist or external events disturb or alter the normal course of the country, Pukina Travel reserves the right of cancellation of the tour or service, or part of it, or the modification of its content, always in the best interest and security of the traveler. In case of cancellation Pukina Travel will withhold 10% of the payment for administrative expenses.
If the tour has been initiated, the participant will additionally pay the expenses made so far. In case of modification, Pukina Travel will make a new estimation considering the changes.

Payment of the tour or service is taken as acknowledgment and agreement of the above mentioned terms.

PRIVACY POLICY

Pukina Travel must collect your personal information to deliver the Tour and any products or services booked. Pukina Travel collects, uses and discloses only that information reasonably required to enable the Tour Operator and its Third Party Suppliers to provide the particular Tour, products and/or services that you have requested as described in Pukina Travel’s Privacy Policy and is expressly incorporated into these Terms. By submitting any personal information to the Tour Operator, you indicate your acceptance of the Tour Operator’s Privacy Policy.

SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is so broad as to be unenforceable, such provision will be interpreted to be only so broad as is enforceable. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision hereof will in no way affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.

CONTRACT PARTIES & SUCCESSORS

These Terms will inure to the benefit of and be binding upon the parties and their respective heirs, legal and personal representatives, executors, estate trustees, successors and assigns.

APPLICABLE LAW

These Terms are subject to the laws of Bolivia and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located Bolivia for the resolution of any dispute under these Terms or concerning any Tour, product or service.

AMENDMENTS

Pukina Travel reserves the right to update or alter these Terms at any time, and will post the amended Terms on the website, any amendment will take effect 10 days after being posted. You are deemed to have accepted any amendments to these Terms, Pukina Travel recommends that you refer to the Terms prior to travel to familiarize themselves with the most up-to-date version available.
